My sister and I were headed to western Missouri, and thankfully she remembered hearing about this little gem tucked away south of interstate 44 in Bourbon. From start to finish, our experience was wonderful. Michelle, one of the owners, took the time to welcome us and guide our culinary choices. We thoroughly enjoyed the fresh quinoa salad, to which we added some perfectly seasoned shredded chicken for added protein. (They were more than happy to accommodate dietary preference/restrictions) She then recommended their latte with bourbon-infused heavy cream. Absolutely delicious, and not too sweet. Our initial plan to avoid dessert was foiled when we laid eyes on their glass case of baked goods. The orange cake? YUUUUUM!! Let's talk about that icing, shall we? It was not too sweet and had a delicate orange essence. Delicious food aside, we loved the ambience. There are fresh flowers on each table, a mellow sweet pup that'll steal your place on one of the sofas, the homage to Dolly in the corner at the back, the delightful patio out back with a canoe planter. Need we say more? We loved our visit and can't wait to return!
What an absolute delightful place we stumbled upon today. Husband and I were camping at Blue Springs Ranch and had to run into DG. Decided to try this because the outside was decorated so cute. We remembered seeing this place getting rehabbed a couple of years ago when camping. When we walked in the door, we were floored with how cute she has it decorated. Down to every little detail and every nook and cranny has a little story to tell. Truly enjoyed seeing all the Dolly memorabilia including cute little children's books all with a Dolly theme. We chit-chatted with Michelle, the owner, who took our order and was just a lil doll. We had the cranberry white chocolate gooey butter cake as a dessert and we both enjoyed the farmer's salad. I am on the fence about ranch but she reassured me that it was going to be better than a normal ranch. She sure was right!!! She told us all the details about how their menu is constantly rotating, how they make everything from scratch, and how they try to take a natural approach. Hubby & I both kept oooh'ing and ahh'ing through our entire meal! Thank you Michelle for a great experience. We may see you again this weekend
In the sleepy lil town of Bourbon, MO lies this absolute wonderful gem of a spot! Everything about it was a joy and you can see the effort into making it a welcoming spot for everyone! Folks from all ages were there to enjoy the food, drinks and quality time together. Church folks, floaters and students all gathered! Now... the food! Pure excellence! The Dirty Chai was perfection... sooo glad I didn't go to Sbux. lol and there's something about a poached egg done perfectly and seasoned beautifully that I didn't even need salt/ pepper... makes a gal happy!! Finally... the flowers!! Omgosh.. what a great job someone put into all the flowers, the canoe pot... an effort of love you can tell! Thanks so much Michelle for your welcoming, fun personality, and taking the time to describe the process so folks don't have to wait twice... y'all have an epic spot and I'd highly recommend it if in the area for a float or passing through!
Wonderful experience! Great food, the staff and owner was so kind and a great atmosphere with live music! The cold brew coffee and B&G’s tasted amazing!
This is a place you have to stop in. Michelle is one in a million. Loves what she is doing. The food is absolutely amazing and homemade. So friendly and welcoming. They are very concerned about your experience here. Willing to change anything you don't like. Excellent customer service. Trust me there is not anything you won't like. I love the fact they are incorporating other local businesses into what they are doing. They are show casing barrel king very well. My husband is so happy that they actually season the food. What she is doing she is doing well. We will for sure be back.
Michelle has created such a little oasis! Beautiful decor, makes you feel like home, such a good small town experience with amazing food. Recommend the biscuits and gravy!
First time ever. Also love that dog. So adorable Dolly. The food was absolutely delicious and the environment very clean and felt like it was back in time. Also the staff were phenomenal. Will be back!! Came from the St Louis area, well worth the drive.
It’s hard to describe how transformative this café is — stepping inside felt like being transported straight into a scene from a Hallmark movie. Eclectic, warm, and inviting, it’s the kind of place you instantly want to linger in. The owners are wonderfully personable and friendly, making you feel like a regular from the moment you walk in. Even the fellow patrons greeted us like old friends, adding to the small-town magic. Dogs resting at your feet, scratch-made food filling the air with mouthwatering aromas — it’s charm in the most authentic form. The zucchini muffin was so good we immediately bought four more to take home. The paninis were perfection: crisp, buttery, and dressed with herbs right on the crust. The “Three Blind Mice” grilled cheese, Avocado toast, and the PB&J were absolutely incredible. This place is a rare gem — one of those places you wish you could keep all to yourself but can’t help telling everyone about. Thank you for such an amazing visit!
